YOUNTVILLE, Calif. -- Play ball! Superstars Guy Fieri and Tim McGraw recently joined forces to fundraise for Wine Country Weekend, consisting of food, softball and music! The event raised over one million dollars to benefit brain health and wellness for veterans, first responders, and healthcare professionals.
"Both Tim and I have the same appreciation and admiration for our vets and for active military. And when we started talking about this, it just kept escalating like, 'okay, well, let's have a food wine event. Okay, well, let's have a concert. Okay, well, let's feed the vets,'" explained Fieri.
The event transformed into all of the above plus a softball game happening at Veterans Home of California Yountville.
"I've been here 12 years, and this is the most incredible event this home has ever had in the 12 years I've been here. This is beyond belief," said Gary Sloan Allied Council Chair of the Veterans Home.
"It made me tear up a few times. You see these, these guys come through and you realize what they've sacrificed," said McGraw. "It makes me feel awesome that we're able to do this and they're able to get out and come enjoy a day like this and get to spend some time...seeing something that's appreciating them."

Chef Guy Fieri and his celebrity Chef friends will provide guests with an unforgettable culinary experience. Throughout the evening guests will sip on the finest of wines, savor delicacies, learn about our missions, meet heroes, and paddle up for what promises to be an exhilarating silent and live auction. The evening’s grand finale, music by Grammy award winning country superstar Tim McGraw and guest, the Silverado Pickups.

Rounding off the weekend, the “Honoring Heroes BBQ” and “Game for Heroes Celebrity Softball Classic” will be held from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 on the historic Cleve Borman Field located at Veterans Home of California, Yountville. Prior to the game, Chef Guy Fieri and his team will prepare a BBQ exclusively for the Yountville Veterans Home’s Veteran Residents, Employees, Healthcare providers and the community's First Responders to honor the sacrifice and commitment to our community and our country.
Then get ready for the “Game for Heroes Celebrity Softball Classic,” where Tim McGraw and Guy Fieri will trade in their cowboy hat and chef coat for baseball caps. The 6-inning softball game will feature our nation’s heroes (veterans, first responders and healthcare professionals), sports and media celebrities. Game time starts at 1:30pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 and will close with the trophy and awards presentation. Tons of food and beverages, auction, raffle, music, and fun for the whole family!
